Summer Gigs

Here they come. I'm setting up an outdoor concert series at U of Penn. They're great to get, these gigs, but man is it hot out. U of P is going to cover us so that's great. I'll be back to post the line up.

Tuesday Jazz Jam

I teach a class at the University of the arts every Tuesday called Jazz Jam. We hang out, play music and talk about improv.

It's mainly for adults who are not in the field of music and want to get some experience playing and learning about jazz.

Jimmy Bruno CD Release Party June 30th

I'll be playing with Jimmy on June 30th at Chris' 8 until 11:30. It's a CD release party for his new CD with him, me and Jeff Pedraz.

March 17th Reading Jazz Fest

I'll be in Reading with Gerald Veasley at the Base Camp, Gerald's club which is located inside the Reading Sheraton. I'll be with his group "Gerald Veasley and the Electric Mingus Project".

MJ's coffee house - March 1

Tonight March 1, I'll be at MJ's coffee house right by the Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA.

It's actually a really great spot to play. The place is usually pretty busy, lots of students come out and check out the music.

It's my favorite to play for attentive students. You kind of feel like you're passing something on. It makes you at the very least attempt to play your best.

We'll see!!

Get so Busy

I get so busy I have no time to keep my gig blog up!! I'm thinking about getting a calendar. It's amazing but people do check here and I do get email when i let it go.

It seems it's a balancing act between music and the music business. They are truly different, the music business sucks and makes us want to quit and music keeps us going. They don't go hand in hand and one usually suffers for the other.

I realize business people don't understand, however they're 2 totally opposite sides of the brain!

I hate with a passion the business side. Having to sell yourself, hustle, make money.

I love the music side, just playing having fun. After all the rest of the world works, we play. That should sum it up.

Regardless I suck at the business side!!! However I will try and keep my gig blog up to date!

I'll be running the jam session at Chris' Jan 16 from 9-1 and then the 31 and feb 1st from 10-2.

Jan 30th I'll be a Chris' with my trio from 7 -10.
